IFTA Committees


Standing Committees

The AFC is established by the IFTA, Inc. Bylaws Article VI, Section 10, and codified within the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200. The purpose of the AFC is to provide specific guidance to member administrators on matters related to alternative fuels as defined in IFTA Articles of Agreement Article R239. The authority and purpose include making recommendations to the IFTA, Inc. Board of Trustees on matters related to alternative fuels, assisting with the research and drafting of ballot proposals related to alternative fuels, and completing other duties and responsibilities assigned to it by the IFTA, Inc. Board of Trustees.

The AAC is established by the International Fuel Tax Association, Inc. (“IFTA, Inc.”) Board of Trustees (“Board”) pursuant to Article Six, Section 9 of the Bylaws of IFTA, Inc. The purpose of the AAC is to provide training for jurisdiction attorneys and to provide a forum to discuss and resolve potential areas of conflict involving legal issues.

The APC is established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200.010. The purpose of the APC is to maintain the IFTA Articles of Agreement, the IFTA Procedures Manual, and to complete other responsibilities assigned to it by the International Fuel Tax Association, Inc. (IFTA, Inc.) Board of Trustees (Board).

The AC is established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200.020. The purpose of the AC is to review and maintain the IFTA Audit Manual and to complete other responsibilities.

The CAC is established by the International Fuel Tax Association, Inc. (IFTA, Inc.) Board of Trustees (Board) to provide guidance for use of the IFTA, Inc. Clearinghouse (Clearinghouse) as established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement, Section R2110. The CAC monitors the monthly funding process to ensure that all jurisdictions meet their financial obligations and receive all funds due to them under this agreement.

The DRC is established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200.060. The purpose of the DRC is to facilitate dispute resolution in a fair, impartial, efficient and expeditious manner.








View Committee

The IAC is established by Article R1810.200.030 of the IFTA Articles of Agreement. The IAC is a formal mechanism through which representatives of the motor carrier industry can present to the IFTA membership and the International Fuel Tax Association, Inc. (IFTA, Inc.), industry concerns, interests, and recommendations regarding IFTA and IFTA, Inc., programs, functions, policies, and procedures.

The LEC is established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200.050. The LEC acts as a liaison between the fuel tax administrators within the IFTA membership and the fuel tax enforcement community by creating interest and promoting uniformity in fuel tax enforcement

The PCRC is established by the IFTA Articles of Agreement pursuant to Article R1810.200.040. The PCRC is responsible for ensuring the uniformity and integrity of the program compliance review process.
